Miss Hawthorne's 2nd Grade: We had a rambunctious week!

This week we,

went to the science lab! We learned about gravity, circular motion, and symmetry.
had Patrick's birthday celebration!
earned 4 green cones! BIG SADNESS!! We are striving for 5 next week!
only have 4 more marbles to go before we fill our marble jar!
are half way to 100 days of school!
had Ms. Matthys come talk to us about our feelings and when we feel proud.
had a few kids go to Math Pentathalon.
saw some money from other countries thanks to some friends in our class.
had Halloween on Monday.
learned more vocabulary words! Rambunctious and monotone were our favorites!
worked on biographies!
started a new month--November! Thanksgiving is coming up!
had friends come to lunch bunch with Miss Hawthorne!
had a guest reader!
learned there are 4 ways to spell long u--ew, u_e, ue, u
rearranged our room! We went from tables to rows! This helps control our urge to chat with neighbors.
learned about balance. Balance is when an object does not fall and is at equilibrium. Weight is evenly distributed.
read about inventors.
learned comparing and contrasting.
started adding 2 digit numbers using a variety of strategies.
