We are looking forward to our Winter Break!!!

We are updating today for last week and the 2 days this week before our Winter break!

Last week we...

  • celebrated Kendal's birthday!
  • read The Mitten and made a mitten!
  • learned the different spellings of "or". They are oar, ore, or.
  • continued regrouping with 2 digit numbers. Some of us started adding 3 and 4 digit numbers!
  • went to computer lab and played a place value game.
  • had a visit from Dr. Hall on Monday!
  • made temperature predictions.
  • had indoor recess again because of all of the rain!
  • are counting the days until our 2 weeks off!
  • learned about the different cloud types. They are: cirrus clouds that tell us it is going to rain or snow later, cumulus clouds that are good weather clouds, cumulonimbus clouds which are storm clouds. Stratus clouds are rainy day clouds.
  • learned that fog is a cloud low to the ground.
  • made water cycle bracelets. Water falls from a cloud as precipitation. Precipitation forms a puddle on the ground. The sun comes out and evaporates the water. Water vapor condenses into a cloud. The cycle starts over again.
  • read Click Clack Moo Cows That Type and we talked about cause and effect. We ask ourselves "What Happened?" for the effect and "Why?" for the cause.
  • took our TEMI middle of the year test.
  • took spelling tests.
  • continued Daily 5
  • went to the science lab and learned about air pressure. We made rockets and we got to pet Sugar and see Spice (the rats).
