We had a MAGNIFICENT week!

This week we...




  • made haunted houses! 
  • didn't come to school Monday! 
  • wrote haunted house cinquain poems.
  • wrote creative stories about going on an adventure! 
  • continued sparkle words!
  • had picture day! 
  • read the book Monster Baby. 
  • drew the Santa Maria that was a ship that was part of Christopher Columbus's exploration.
  • went to the library and learned about Non-fiction and Fiction stories! 
  • went to computer lab and learned about reptiles, amphibians, and mammals. 
  • made a timeline of Christopher Columbus.
  • got a new student! :) 
  • learned place value! 
  • only got 2 green cones at lunch this week :(! BIG SADNESS!  We are working for all 5 GREEN cones! Maybe we can accomplish this next week! 
  • started studying Eric Carle books! 
  • are updating our blog. 
  • learned the difference between a verb and an adjective. A verb is an action word and an adjective is a describing word! 
  • learned long e words in spelling. The 6 ways to make the long e sound are e_e, ee, ea, ie, ey, y.
  • continued Daily 5!
We followed a grid map to make a haunted house picture!

Place Value activity with straws! Ask your kids about it! 

We wrote cinquain Haunted House poems!

Who knew we could learn place value with beans?!


We were creative and made Haunted Houses to go with our poems!

Scary!!!.....The Haunted House! (not the kid! ;) )

We used our listening skills to draw the Santa Maria for Columbus Day! The kids are artists!! 

WOW!


We added a timeline of information about Christopher Columbus! They are hanging in our halllway! Come take a look!
